Arranging an assessment
Appointments are made through the hospital's outpatient line or through the appointment service. If you are travelling from outside Chongqing, say so when you book, because the examination and any pre-treatment tests can sometimes be arranged across fewer visits. You can also use the contact page on this site to ask a question before booking.
What to bring
Bring any previous nasal surgery or injury records, a list of your current medicines and allergies, and the names of any conditions you are being treated for. If you use a nasal spray regularly, bring it or note its name and how often you use it, because that is a common and reversible cause of obstruction. Photographs from earlier years help, because they show how the nose sat before it changed.
What happens at the consultation
Expect an examination rather than a presentation. The surgeon will look inside the nose at the septum and the lining, assess how air moves through each side, look at the bony and cartilaginous parts of the bridge from several angles, examine the tip, take standardised photographs, and ask about injuries, allergies and when the change appeared. You should leave knowing what is deviated, whether it blocks anything, what treatment would change, and what happens if you decide against it.
Asking a question without booking
Questions about the content of this site — including any correction you believe should be made to it — are welcome through the hospital's administration line. Clinical questions about your own case are best answered in person, and we will say so rather than guess.
